Around the start of the year a couple of my friends caught my interest in Bleach, I had always steered clear from the over 100+ episode series and vowed never to watch them because it would take far too long on my download limit, and I had always feared that Bleach was just another Naruto (sorry naruto lovers - just not my thing)So after actually reading a synopsis of the series over at anime-planet surprised that it was on my want to watch list already probably from a random synopsis reading some time ago, I found out that it had a lot of elements that i love - supernatural + swords lol, so taking a deep breath i decided to give it a go.
My first reaction to Bleach was that it was:
1-Hilarious
2-A bit weird
3-Interesting
4-Good story line even with the randomness (and occasional fillers)
So naturally I fell in love with the series, of course i had a love hate relationship and gave it a couple of weeks pause when I went through certain arcs that i detested but ended up liking in the end lol (aka the bount arc)
So I ended up going through it a lot faster than I thought I would and was shocked, sad and happy when i finally caught up. I'm quite surprised that I only skimmed through at least 2 filler episodes and that for the most part found myself enjoying the random no plot fillers just as much as the actual plot episodes.
The characters are enjoyable, loveable and of course you have the ones everyone loves to hate, I find myself harbouring a strange love for Chad, i just want to give him a big hug... >_< weird I know but I can't help it :DThe characters are all so lovable and its hard for me to pick one above all the others as i just love them all.. especially nel, the mod souls and Kon <3 haha the only character that I don't like so much would probably have to be Orihime (hides from all the fan bois/girls) I do like Orihime just her original ditzy character and not the current 'oh I'm trying to be oh so deep and meaningful cause im a tough damsel in distress' act lol.
So while I'm patiently waiting for the next episode and the next movie to be released in dvd in japan in december I've started on the manga and will be reading it, to see the difference and how far apart it is from the anime, and how much better or worse it is ^_^
And with that has anyone else watched Bleach? what do you think of it?

Bleach remains the first anime series that really got me into anime. Even after the Soul Society arc, I continued watching through all the fillers and have yet to miss an episode.
I am no longer as enamoured of it as I was, and I started reading the manga from chapter 209 (around the time Matsumoto covered Hitsugaya's eyes after the first appearance of the "rogue" Arrancar led by Grimmjow in Karakura), and still continue to.
Sadly though, Bleach anime is now actually, for once, better than the manga, because of the Zanpakutou Rebellion arc. At least, that makes me want to watch the anime more, which is something of an oddity as the manga has always been better than the anime ever since I started reading it.
It may be classic shounen by now, but whatever. I still like it in certain ways, it had and still has a lot of potential, and I hope Kubo can carry it through when we finally end it.
I've toyed with the idea of watching Bleach before, but the sheer number of downloads would utterly annihilate my shitty Australian broadband download limit -_-

I love Chad too~ though I haven't read/watch much of it, only up until around when the Arrancas made an appearance.
Actually, my brother looks like Chad lol~ except he's working on the muscles atm, and he's nowhere near as tall, but he has the hair and nose x3
