Vampire Knight Review

I've been debating whether to watch Vampire Knight since I heard that it was coming out. Being a big fan of the anime I wasn't sure if I could watch it.

So I finally decided to d/l the first episode the other day, and I was quite surprised with how much I enjoyed watching it! Sure it didnt have every single detail from the anime but they did an excellent job of following it pretty well... so far at least lol.

Summary: Cross Academy is different from other schools. It has a Day Class and a Night Class, with different uniforms and no interaction between these two classes. Secretly, students of the Night Class are all vampires, led by Kuran Kaname, a noble vampire who 10 years prior saved Cross Yuki from the attack of a stray vampire. Now a Guardian of the Night Class vampires, Yuki works along with fellow classmate Kiriyuu Zero, a young man with a hatred for vampires deeper than anything she could imagine. Together, they protect Kaname and the Night Class vampires from having their identities revealed, as well as protect Day Class students from any vampire attacks that occur do to a vampire's natural thirst for blood. Based on the manga by Hino Matsuri.

I'm giving Vampire Knight a 9/10 because the animation was beautiful, characters fantastic and plot keep you wanting more, why I didnt give it a full 10 was because, some things were missing from the Manga which wasn't much just some things I think needed to be in, and the ending was a good cliff hanger, should have kept going a little bit I think till one of the major events of the manga, which would have been even more suspensful! (I wont say cause its a massive spoiler)

Vampire Knight will definately be going in my top favourites, and I would highly recomend it to everyone, because the animation and the plot reel you in and I think anyone would like it, no matter what genre they prefer.

Vampire Knight has its serious moments as well as its funny moments, some have told me they find the anime slow, but maybe because I've read the manga I havent found it to be so? Has anyone else seen it? If so what do you think of it?

Shana Nendroid

Everyone probably already knows about the shana nendroid, but I couldn't help myself, plus i want her really bad!!

I learnt from alafista that the Black hair shana nendroid with her melon bread will be an exclusive for mail-in issue only :(

But flaming hair shana will be released in september!! I hope that i can get them both!

Red Gothic Lolita Asuka!

Yay I got my first Asuka figure in the mail yesterday!! first smart buy from an ebay seller in japan lol, My bootleg Konata did come from china, and I have learnt my lesson to be more careful in the future, Konata will sit on my shelf until there is no room and then she may go back in her box and possibly the bin lol.

Yes and shes the red version :O lol, a lot of people dont like this version but i saw it and had to get it, maybe cause red is one of my favourite colours? or because it is Asuka's colours... but the main reason why i decided on the red version was simply because of her shoes >_<

My pictures dont do Asuka justic, and after i had finished and uploaded them I realised I didnt have her sitting properly >_< so just ignore that lol.

What do you think of the red version?

More Pre-orders.

A few people commented on what was my pre-orders, So I thought that I would blog about that ^_^ other than the ones I've already blogged about (Hiriagi twins figma, Yotsuba summer version, Emiri Bunny and Kureha.) my post about them can be found here.

All my current pre-orders are from Kid Nemo, some that I've ordered have been really hard to find else where as the pre-orders are already filled, so I'm hoping that kidnemo can come through for me, and yes shipping to australia from america is an absolute bitch but I dont mind paying it for these ones ^_^

I wont mention my current bought items, but leave those for a surprise for when i get them ^_^

Lucky star petit nendroid set 2, I probably love the minor characters more than the main.. except for konata of course, so this was a must get for me. Also does anyone know anywhere thats selling the first set? I haven't been able to find them anywhere :(

After I got figma Yuki, I couldn't wait to pre-order the others, but what will be funny is that I most likely will get these before I buy haruhi, although I'll probably order her at Hobbylink in the next couple of weeks.

Konata figma! another must, because How could I get the Hiragi twins and not Konata?

How could I not? I have a deep love for miku lol, and Have been trying to get my mits on her for so long that I was practically jumping out of my chair in glee when I found out that Kidnemo was getting her in.

If i pre-order Miku how can I resist the twins hehe.

another must for the miku fangirl residing inside me lol.

So they are all my pre-orders, now I have some major saving up to do, as at least one comes out everyone month till november ^_^ which will make me very happy.

Now off to work to earn some money for my orders >_< in about two weeks i should have the money for all of them, my mum went off at me for pre-ordering over the amount i currently have in my bank account, >_<

Update

I havent updated in ages :( I've been so busy working, trying to save up enough money for all the buying/preordering im doing lol.

should have some figures in the mail soon and a better post hopefully tomorrow, just thought i would make an update, but now I'm to tired to post anything good >_<

Teru Teru Bozu

We all would have seen Teru Teru Bozu in Anime at some point!(like in minami-ke and various other animes) I've always had an interest to find out more about Teru Teru Bozu, and now that I have I thought i would share it with everyone.

Teru teru bōzu (Japanese: てるてる坊主; "shiny-shiny Buddhist priest") is a little traditional hand-made doll made of white paper or cloth that Japanese farmers began hanging outside of their window by a string. This amulet is supposed to have magical powers to bring good weather and to stop or prevent a rainy day. "Teru" is a Japanese verb which describes sunshine, and a "bōzu" is a Buddhist monk (compare the word bonze), or in modern slang, "bald-headed."

Teru teru bōzu became popular during the Edo period among urban dwellers, whose children would make them the day before the good weather was desired and chant "Fine-weather priest, please let the weather be good tomorrow."

Today, children make teru-teru-bōzu out of tissue paper or cotton and string and hang them from a window to wish for sunny weather, often before a school picnic day. Hanging it upside down - with its head pointing downside - acts like a prayer for rain. They are still a very common sight in Japan.
There is a famous warabe uta, or Japanese nursery rhyme, associated with teru teru bozu:

Translation:
Teru-teru-bozu, teru bozu
Do make tomorrow a sunny day
Like the sky in a dream sometime
If it's sunny I'll give you a golden bell

Teru-teru-bozu, teru bozu
Do make tomorrow a sunny day
If you make my wish come true
We'll drink lots of sweet rice wine

Teru-teru-bozu, teru bozu
Do make tomorrow a sunny day
But if it's cloudy and you are crying (i.e. it's raining)
Then I shall snip your head off

Like many nursery rhymes, this song is rumored to have a darker history than it first appears. It allegedly originated from a story of a monk who promised farmers to stop rain and bring clear weather during a prolonged period of rain which was ruining crops. When the monk failed to bring sunshine, he was executed. Many Japanese folk historians, however, believe this story and others regarding the origins of teru teru bozu may have originated from long after the tradition had become widespread, most likely in an attempt to refine the image of the doll. It is more likely that the "bōzu" in the name refers not to an actual Buddhist monk, but to the round, bald monk-like head of the doll, and "teru teru" jokingly referring to the effect of bright sunlight reflecting off a bald head.

I like pictures with umbrellas ^_^

All information was found on wikipedia!

So what Anime's have you seen Teru Teru Bozu in?

Al Azif Nendroid!

Yup thats right I got my Al Azif nendroid today ^_^ she is my first offical nendroid and shes great, so much fun playing with her.

What surprised me the most was Al's pantsu were green! lol.

Right now Al and Yuki are battling it out on my desk, I'll have to take a picture of that later lol.

Figma Yuki

yes thats right, yuki figma pantsu! haha last night I was playing with Yuki and decided to try and be professional, here are some pictures that I took lol.

Watch out or Yuki will kick you! lol I had so much fun making Yuki pose in many different positions lol.

I didn't end up taking that many photo's because dinner was ready half way through but I can't wait till i get other figma's lol.

To tell the truth, I first ordered Yuki without any troubles, but then I saw some horrible pictures through the net of her where her joints and hair looked horrible, so I was getting worried. I was so happy when I got her because she looked so much better than I thought she would, and the joints aren't bad at all.
