Pre-orders.

I thought I would have a little post today on my current Figure pre-orders. Above is my latest pre-order, Kureha from Shining Tears x Wind, I thought she was just too stunning to not purchase ^_^ and she'll be my first girl from the series, hopefully one day I can get the others.

Emiri will be my first bunny girl from the haruhi set, I hope to purchase the whole set eventually ^_^ A lot of people think, probably because she is a minor character that she isn't that great of a buy, but i think that she's beautiful and probably one of the best in the set of the bunny girls.

Yotsuba!!! As soon as I saw this figure I knew that I had to get it at all costs, Yotsuba is one of my favourite manga's its absolutely hilarious and she's such a wacky fantastic character ^_^

My last pre-order is Tsukasa!! I wish I could have pre-ordered Konata :( but I'm only pre-ordering things from the australian online store Tamarket I have to wait till I get my mastercard debit to order anything else internationally.

Well there you have it there all my latest pre-orders, not much compared to some others, but since I'm new to figures its a lot for me.

I also have Figma Yuki in the mail, hopefully she'll get here soon!

Shining Tears X Wind: Anime Review

Synopsis: Mysterious disappearances are occurring one after the other in Tatsumi Town. Kiriya has a vision from a mysterious beautiful girl with pointy ears. A book talking for an alternative world is found. And Mao searching for her long lost friend, Zero, comes to our world. But what she didn’t expect is to find Souma and Kureha, and even less, to accidentally take them to her world. Now, Souma and Kureha have to find a way to come back. But other forces are playing their part in the darkness and Souma with Kureha will find that going back is harder than they first anticipated. (Source: ANN)

Shining Tears x Wind has been on my list for a while as well, and I finially decided to start watching it, I must admit it was because I saw a gorgeous figure of Kureha up for pre-order at tamarket, and I've been an admirer of the Shining Tears x Wind figures for a while now ^_^ Of course I pre-ordered her and then started to watch the series lol.

Isn't she pretty!

I knew that it was Adapted from a game, but even I didn't just the music and way of the anime just screams that it was made from a game, but not in a bad way!

I love Fantasy animes, especially ones with action and adventure which appealed to me also, the animation was fantastic and the characters were great.

SPOILER - It had its hilarious moments also, epecially when the boys as soul bladers found their holy grail swords, of course the first two was from their love interest, and the main character who at the time of him finding his 'holy grail' I was staring at the screen in anticipation that if it wasn't the right girl i would scream lol, and was equally shocked when it turned out to be his 'comrade' another soul blader.. I laughed soo hard and It continues to give me the giggles.

It is really hard to give it an overall rank, as it is now one of my favourites, but I'm going to give it a 7/10 because I'm being a big girl about the ending... I hate it... only because the people that ending up together was simply... crap! except for Xecty and Kiriya lol.. I would go on a massive rant about it lol but I don't want to put anymore spoilers in as I already have ^_^ I'll just say this... I hate Mao.. hehe!

So has anyone else seen Shining Tears X Wind? what did you think of it? and what did you think about the ending. (the ending was rather good minus the couples lol)

Lucky Star Game

Yay another game! there will probably be more games in the future!

This game isn't just any game its....LUCKY STAR!! and if you didnt know already, I'm a big fan of lucky star, which when i heard of this game i coulnt wait until I downloaded it ^_^

The aim of the game? Is pretty much nothing lol you just live the life of konata and make her do things (kind of like sims.) you play mini games and unlock items for Konata, but other than that you can make her play at her computer, play games with her dad, watch anime etc.

The only real two places you go in the game is Konata's room, and her classroom, Konata also walk the streets to the bus etc and then to school lol and the worst thing is that not only konata but all the characters walk really slow.

The mini games are entertaining, but not difficult. I would recommend this to all big Lucky star fans, because no matter how boring it is, and even if you just play it once or twice its really kawaii.

I would have my own screenshots but my program decided not to work the other day :(

So if your interested you can d/l it Here!

Edit- I'm pretty sure you can go into other rooms, I saw some different pictures lol, I just havent unlocked them yet ^_^ probably would be like the mini games and Items, you just have to keep going until everything is unlocked lol.

Some Goodies!

ooh and what could this be?! I got a surprise today in the mail from madman ^_^ such a big box i wonder what could be inside!?

thats right, just two mangas for such a big box lol! anyway I saw that madman was having a sale and Vampire Knights was cheap so i decided to start collecting ^_^ and I was so happy to be able to get Shrine of the morning Mist vol.2 I bought the first volume a while ago and havent been able to find it anywhere since ^_^

Vampire Knights pages are actually quite glossy and the cover has a protective glossy slip that you can slip on and off, which i have never seen on a manga before lol.

Shrine of the morning mist had some scratched on the cover, like it had been in storage for so long and the front cover was stuck to something lmao, I could ask for a new one but I couldnt be really bothered, and the inside isn't damaged at all.

I was actually quite surprised when my mum brought in the box, as they only tole me that they shipped it the other day lol.

Well thats all for today ^_^ back to reading about Miko's kicking spiritual butt's!

Hyper Battle Haruhi Suzumiya!

I'm not sure if this game is called Hyper Battle Haruhi Suzumiya, but thats what it says on the cover to the side ^_^ and that picture was in the pack I d/l, I would be able to confirm it if I could read Japanese lol.

Well I downloaded this Haruhi Fighting game the other day, and I wasn't quite sure if I would like it, because I absolutely suck at fighting games, but I'm glad that I downloaded it becuase its so much fun!

You can pick and choose to play Kyon, Haruhi, Yuki, Mikuru, Itsuki, Asakura, Tsuraya - who is locked at the start of the game (I havent unlocked her yet ^_^ but I'm slowly working on it.)

This is the start of the game when you choose your character ^_^

The aim of the game is to defeat your fellow sos oponents, until you or your team are victorious! you can pick up other weapons, you have special attacks and special transformations ^_^ all of which can have you laughing.

Transformations:
Kyon = Space Cadet (Day of Saggitarius)
Haruhi = Bunny Girl (with guitar weapon)
Mikuru = Battle maid (with picket sign)
Yuki = Witch
Itsuki = bathing suit
Asakura = Flame Haze Shana (^_^)
Tsuruya = Waitress

I think the characters are really well done and very kawaii!

If you enlarge the shana picture you can see mikuru maid and haruhi bunny jumping in the air lol!

You must be weary of mikuru maid's Mikuru beam, its seriously dangerous lol! and Haruhi bunny hitting you with the guitar certainly packs a punch lol.

When I first got the game, I was really excited to play Yuki as she's my favourite, But I've been having a lot of fun playing Haruhi and Mikuru so far, It will be interesting after I play a bit more, and unlock Tsuruya who my favourite becomes.

I must say even though I love playing Mikuru, she is my most favourite character to kill lol.

I probably should have blogged this after I unlucked Tsuruya and I got more screenshots lol, but I couldnt resist!

This game is very addictive but if you want to d/l it you can find more information
here! if you do d/l it you'll have to let me know what you think ^_^

Demonbane Review

Demonbane has been on my want to watch list for quite sometime now and I finally decided to watch it, and I couldnt stop once I started.

heres a little Summary for everyone who hasn't seen or heard of it: Kuro Daijuuji is a poor detective living in Arkham City. One day, he was requested by Ruri Hado of Hado Financial Group, to search for a magic book. While he initially refused, Ruri offered him a large sum of money upon completion of her request, in which bribed Kuro to accept. As Kuro searches for the book, he unexpectedly runs into Al, a pretty girl that is actually a powerful grimoire. They forge a contract with each other, bestowing Kuro with powerful magic. Soon afterwards, Al also activates Demonbane, a deus machina owned by the Hado Financial Group, to combat the mechanical menace from the Black Lodge. With this, the war between the Hado Financial Group and the Black Lodge begins.... (source: AnimeNewsNetwork.com)

I love a good mecha at times, especially if it has other things mixed in, and in demonbane's case Romance, Magic and Action were mixed in with the mecha.

The Story was intriguing, of course it had its wtf moments, most animes do lol, The art was good, and the characters were great, and there was eye-candy for the females as much as the males which is a major plus on my account.

I think I will have to give Demonbane a 9/10 because I loved it so much! and it will definately be going up there in my top favourites, not sure at what rank yet lol, maybe my top five, and if not it will definately be in my top 10.

Some may not agree on my ranking, but everyone has different tastes and I like a bit of everything and in most cases I usually wont continue watching something that I dont enjoy! although I have watched a lot where I made myself finish to either find out what happens, or making myself finish it hoping it would get better, or watched something to see what all the fuss was about lol.

So has anyone else seen Demonbane!? What do you think of it if you have? and if you haven't seen in would you watch it?

Japanese Superstitions

Today I looked into Japanese superstitions and thought it would be fun to share what I found with everyone! are you superstitious? I am to an extent so its nice to know other superstitions in other countries if you plan to visit them, well in my opinion anyway lol.

Sleeping towards the North:
Do not sleep towards the North beacause bodies are laid down like that.

Funeral Car:
If a funeral car passes you should hide your thumb.

Cut nails at night:
If you cut your nails at night, you will not be with your parents when they die.

Lie down after eating:
If you lie down immedeately after eating, you will become a cow.

Whistle in the night:
If you whistle in the night, a snake will come to you.

Black cat:
There are also some imported superstitions such as the believe that black cats crossing the street in front of you cause bad luck.

Yaku-doshi:
In Japan, there are a few years in life called yaku-doshi - "evil years". They occur at different times for men (25, 42, 60) and women (19, 33), although these years are calculated from before birth using an old Chinese method.

Baby Name:
Each Japanese character or kanji contains a certain number of strokes and these are important when choosing a name for a baby. For the first name, only a certain number of strokes will go well with the number of strokes in the surname. The rules are complicated and a specialst book or expert is usually consulted. The number of strokes in characters is also considered important for compatibility of future partners.

February 3:
On the 3rd of February (start of Spring in the ancient calendar) dried soya beans are thrown out of the house while saying fuku wa uchi, oni wa soto - "good luck is inside, the devil is outside". This brings good luck for the coming year. Incidentally, the Japanese for bean is mame and the word for hard working is mamemameshii, so beans are eaten on this day to become stronger. Usually the number of beans you eat is equal to your age in years.

Butsumetsu:
Several times a month there is a day called butsumetsu. This symbolises the day that Buddha died and is an unlucky day to get married or to take part in any celebration.

Hara-obi:
During pregnancy, women wear a maternity belt called a hara-obi. This is first worn five months after conception on a "dog day" which also occur several times a month. The reason for this is that dogs are seen to be very good at giving birth without complications.

Activies:
In Japan, there are certain activities that shouldn't be done in the afternoon or evening. For example, you mustn't cut your fingernails or toenails in the evening. If you do, you won't be with your parents when they pass away. Why? I've no idea!

Whistling:
Similary, you mustn't whistle in the evening. If you do, snakes will appear, apparently.

New Shoes:
When you buy a new pair of shoes, you must wear them for the first time in the morning. Wearing them in the afternoon or evening will bring bad luck.

Needle and Thread:
Another cause of bad luck is using a needle & thread before leaving the house. You have been warned!

Kaso--House Floorplan:
Ancient Japanese thought that the plan of a house influenced its dweller's fortune. It is believed by many people still today. Fortunetelling by floorplan is called Kaso.

For example, house entrance put on the northeast of the house is called kimon. Ancient Japanese believed that kimon conjure hellish monster Oni. Even today, many people hate to put entrance in the direction.

Jichinsai, the Ritual to calm the Spirit of Earth:
Japanese hold the ceremony of Jichinsai to calm the spirit of earth when they build a new building or other installations such as highway, airport, etc.. In this ceremony, Kannushi, a priest of shinto, prays the success of building. Jichinsai is one of traditional shinto rituals. It was believed that if someone built a new house without permission of earth spirit, the spirit would got angry and destroy the building.

Bloodtypes:
It is widely belideved among Japanese that one's A/B/O bloodtype has great influence over his personality. About 100 years ago, a doctor researched the relation between bloodtype and personality, and concluded that the O-typed were good for army soldiers. Nowdays, most psychiartists and doctors say this research was wrong. However, many people still believe it. (man. . too bad i do not know my bloodtype. . )

Bloodtype A :
A man with bloodtype A is deligent, methodical, steady, and nervous.

Bloodtype B :
A man with bloodtype B has originality, but is fickle.

Bloodtype AB :
A man with bloodtype AB is sociable and sensitive.

Bloodtype O :
A man with bloodtype O is durable and resolute.

Omamori:
An Omamori is a lucky charm sold at Jinja, a shinto shrine. Each shrine has a spirit which has one or several powers. For example, Dazaifu Tenmangu in Kyushu island has the spirit of Sugawara-no-Michizane, a famous scholar in 9th century. It is considered as a god of achademy, so its omamori is very popular among high school students / graduates who take college entrance examinations. Omamori for easy delivery are also popular.

Playing with Fire:
If you play with fire, you will wet your bed.(It makes children aware of the danger of fire.)

Nervous:
When you are nervous, write "human beings" in Japanese on your palm three times and pretend to be swallowthem. It will help you to relax.

Well thats all for today, I've been so tired lately.

Dress up.

Well Kyon's sister was sitting around today and decided that she wanted to swap clothes with Tsuruya and see what it was like to be a High School student lol. And Tsuruya decided to try on Kyon's Sister's clothes, as you can see its a perfect fit lol.

lol I originally did this to test the lighting out in my room and I think they came out okay ^_^
