Are you one of those people who download all of their anime to watch? Or you watch and then only buy anime boxsets or individual sets with series that you just have to get!? I'm a bit of both, since I live in a rural part of australia, I have really horrible bandwith so i can only watch so much a month, I can't torrent, but I do d/l things through IRC (thank you almighty IRC gods!!) and before i discovered IRC I used to stream... everything.
My new plan is to buy boxsets of series i love, and also series that I've started that I love but have soo many episodes like Full Metal Alchemist for example, I love it so far, but theres just so many episodes to watch that I wouldnt be able to watch it when i wanted to due to my internet, so I'm just going to buy the boxsets, it ends up being a lot easier this way for me.
So how do you watch your anime?

Firstly I download the series to check it out and if I love it, I will get the boxset. I don't buy individual dvds because they are expensive unlike movies. I can and will wait for the boxset as it's cheaper.
I would suggest u check out rightstuf.com as they have cheap boxsets. The more u buy the more u save and every week they have weekly specials. Madman only distribute 1/4 of what's licensed overall.
I do the same. Download (Like I was renting it) Then if I like it, Ill buy the boxsets. Anime-Planet has a good list of stores to buy them too.

@Optic - last time i checked rightstuf the international shipping was horrible, but now I see that it isnt that bad :O looks like I'll be getting a lot of stuff from there! Now all I need is a region free dvd player.
@Brandon - yeah I've seen the links on ap ^_^ I havent checked it in a while though.

Download most of my anime and for the series I really like [which is most of them ^^;] I buy boxsets, the ones I'm not too fond of... stay as they are.
I don't have a very good connection either but, I make way with it. Special boxsets, I tend to choose if I enjoy the series and like the extra goodies ^^;
Also, having other friends who are into anime helps, as you can trade titles when you meet.
I'm bad... I download all my anime.
One reason is because I hate Subtitles on the DVDs licensed by the US, plus they don't explain stuff as well compared to the fansubs.
I don't want to wait X number of months before it is out on DVD.
I download...
If I see something interesting at a con I buy ^_^
why? because I can't afford it otherwise :(
